Tech Deck Dude Deluxe Series
These single packs were released between 2001 and 2002.
Compared to large playsets, this series provided a way to obtain mini play-sets for your dudes.
Every Deluxe Series single pack came with a dude and a couple of obstacles to do tricks on (barrels, ramps, or rails). The boards from the Deluxe Series 1 had colored wheels and other unique features not typically found in single packs or 3-packs in G1.
The series lasted just 3 waves between 2001-2002 and was canceled once the dude line changed to Generation 2 in 2003 to include arms.
Due to the additional cost of the obstacles, these Deluxe single packs cost $7 vs. your regular $4 single.
I think these may have been short-lived because if you are a kid, you don't need a magnetic ramp for your new dudes. You can turn your desk, fridge door, or house railing into a skatepark for your dudes.
This may be why these lasted a year and did not extend into G2-G4, whereas larger play feature playsets and race tracks pressed on for several additional years.
Here are the 3 waves of Deluxe Series dudes:

Deluxe Series 2 Card back

Much to the confusion of collectors, "Scott" doesn't match the coloring of the graphic on the card back. Since many collectors (including myself) have seen the gray "Deluxe Scott" in-package, it became accepted that he was simply misprinted on the packaging OR they ended up making him a color that they didn't originally intend. Recently, I was DUMBFOUNDED to come across the actual variant on the card back. I made a painful trade and paid a ridiculous amount to get my hands on him.
With the discovery of this Scott, there may be reason to believe other "misprinted" variants exist?
