#014 - Petey

Petey is the TDD devil figure. (Not to be confused with the World Industries Devil Man). Petey is one of 3 "G1" dudes with separate molds, joining Billy and Stevie J. Just like Billy and Stevie J., the reissue was entirely unnecessary.

  • In Petey's first mold, he is actually not a devil, but rather, a finger dressed as one. This mold has 5 variants
  • In Petey's second mold, he reps a backpack and horns that are actually attached to his head. He is inexplicably wearing a backwards visor. There are 5 versions of this sculpt as well.

Later print runs of this 3-Pack variant were tanner with more pronounced eyebrows.
This is because the tanner versions came in the KB Toys Dude Carrying Case

Hot Feet Crew 1 Variant (2002)

G2 Petey

UNRELEASED G2 Petey PLAYSET MOLD!!!

A seller on eBay listed this original sculpt and the painted master for an unreleased Petey. You can tell this is his second G1 version with arms, which was eventually released with bendy arms in G3.

The seller had a close friend who worked at X-Concepts LLC (the company that made everything Tech Deck from 1998-2006 until they were acquired by Spin Master).

The Painted Master has no copyright or magnets since the figure never saw a mass-release

Evolution Crew 2

Evolution Crew 2 Single Pack Variant (2003)
Notice that this is the JcPenney 3-Pack one with arms

Evolution Series 2 Single Pack Variant #2 (2003)

G3 Petey

Evolution Crew 4 Single Pack Variant #1 (2004)

Evolution Crew 4 Single Pack Variant #2 (2004)

Evolution Crew 4 Single Pack Variant #3 (2004)
This one's a bit shady, even in 2004. Why is this devil character's skin dark black? This definitely wouldn't hit production lines today...

Toys R Us 6-Pack Variant (2005)

G3 Mold #2, Re-used for G4.

Now Petey is definitely a devil, and he's Hellboy (he's even eating a candy bar like the Baby Ruth scene in the Guillermo Del Toro Hellboy movie) This version comes in 5 variants (2 of which received slightly different reprints, so let's say 7?)

Evolution Series 8 Single Pack Variant (2005)
Re-released in a 2008 6-Pack.

TRU 6-Pack Variant (2006)
Included with Superfinger, Shanks, Fred, Dakota, and Lenny
2-Pack Variant (2006)
Included with Simon with black hair and a light blue jacket

Zoods Crew 4 Variant (2006)
His Lovecraftian Zood is named Ravage
His Clash Crew 3 variant is this same variant, but with black pants instead of purple.

G4 Single Pack Variant (2009)
Released in the final set of dude single packs, the only set in 2009.
Every one of these final Peteys has a mispaint, his chest is painted and he has no pants?

The paint job on the end of the line dudes was lacking when compared to their original counterparts.

He loses the crackles in his horns and his eyes are white dots instead of black?

His chocolate bar no longer has bite mark details

And his hooves are no longer painted on the bottom
Not to mention, all later G4 dudes lost their magnets.
